A wet weather wedding isn't usually what you plan for when you're organising your wedding. But there's something I absolutely love about wet weather weddings. I say this a lot to couples when we're talking about the wedding but something I notice at wet weather weddings and any other wedding really where things don't go exactly according to plan is how much people really band together and have more fun.
Usually when you're out with people and it's starts raining you and you're friends bail on your plans and head home or make new plans that don't involve staying out in the rain.. But when you're at a wedding and the rain starts falling... there's not much you can do about it. You're sorta stuck. When that feeling hits and you realise you're just going to have to make the most of it, your brain realises it's in a unique situation and starts sending lots of excited chemicals around your brain... Which usually ends up putting people in a really fun mood to party at these weddings. Which makes for a lot of the awesome moments you'll see below.
Molly & Dan were absolute troopers and didn't bat an eyelid at the rain. Which I think is the best response to difficult weather at your wedding. To smile and just choose to enjoy it no matter what. Molly & Dan and all of their guests (Half from Sydney, half from New York) celebrated just like it was a perfect sunny Hawaiian day. Tearing up the dance floor with mud flying off their bare feet. This was one of the wildest parties I've ever been a part of and Molly & Dan were just so wonderful.
