Jervis Bay Wedding - Mindy & Chris | Married in the rain at Worrowing Estate
Mindy and Chris, thank you so much for including me in your stunning Jervis Bay wedding. Worrowing estate is one of my absolute favourite South Coast Wedding Venues. It's a magical spot nestled into the bushland on the South Coast within earshot of the beach this venue has a lot of cool features that make it such an ideal place to have a Jervis Bay wedding.
The first thing that struck me the moment I drove through the gates for the first time was just how many Kangaroo's are chillin in the front yard. They've obviously long realised that Jervis Bay weddings don't pose a threat to their existence and befriended the horses on the property. 250 acres is plenty of room to explore for photos and enjoy the bush & rural setting that Worrowing Estate offers.
Mindy & Chris got lucky & unlucky with the weather on their wedding day. I actually love wet weather weddings for a whole bunch of reasons. I think there's something super cosy about everyone clinging to each other on a slightly colder, more snuggle friendly day. There's definitely more excitement to get around the fire and have a glass of whiskey or mulled wine with the fam.
Thankfully for Mindy & Chris the rain didn't stick around all day and while their ceremony did have to move inside the little barn at Worrowing which thankfully was a perfect fit for their squad. They were able to get out and about for photos and enjoy canapés and lawn games with their family & friends without getting soaked.
These two didn't blink or stress about the rain charging in on them during the ceremony & were such troopers about moving the ceremony even though the rain eased up part way through photos afterwards they were very brave to run around and get wet in the rain with their bridal party for some nice photos between showers.
Mindy's dress actually is made out of the same material they make scuba diving suits out of which lead to some 'Scuba-Steve' jokes throughout the day but worked out perfectly for the wet weather.
My recommendation for wet weather is always to just go with the flow, pack some umbrella's if you need but for country wedding's like this one where you're only wandering 100m or so away from the reception area for photos a lot of the time, you really can just embrace the rain and get a bit wet and then just run inside and get warmed up later.

Mindy and Chris went the extra mile and a half with their homemade hot sauces and cocktails complete with their fox logo. The lemon cocktails you can see above were made with lemons Chris grew in his backyard! 10/10 for personalisation. These guys had so many little unique touches that you really just had to be there for.
