Joel & Bridgette - Cradle Mountain Elopement
Six; hours of driving, five; magnificent mountain lakes, four; photo locations, three: hours of hiking, two people in love, one; epic Cradle Mountain elopement
This was by far the most adventure packed day I've ever been involved in with camera in hand. It will never get old charging up hiking trails with a beautiful bride and groom while proper serious hikers in their crazy hiking gear and walking poles look on with disbelief. Joel & Bridgette I think you guys officially win the award for most brave and adventurous couple I think I've ever photographed thus far.
Running off to Tasmania with you guys to capture your elopement was so so special and I'm forever grateful that you chose me to be a part of such an intimate occasion. I do forgive you for the sore legs I had the next day after that intense hike but I think the photos we got just made it so worth while.
If you're thinking of having a Cradle Mountain elopement I would love to hear from you. Cradle Mountain is probably my favourite part of Australia.(Fun Fact I actually got married here last year myself.) And I'm so stoked that I'm getting to come here more and more often to shoot. I've now had the pleasure of shooting here a bunch of times and you can see some of my favourite cradle mountain elopements here & here. As well as a complete guide I wrote on, how to elope at Cradle Mountain in 2020 here.
Let's stick to the story of Joel & Bridgette's epic cradle mountain elopement for now. We kicked off the day at this incredible Airbnb. "the Container," which is actually a sizeable amount of hours from Cradle mountain. We didn't have a very well formulated plan at this point other than to have the legal ceremony on site with the celebrant. (They actually got their airbnb hosts to come down and act as their witnesses, which was pretty great). Bridgette was still doing her makeup when the celebrant was all ready to go so we got some pretty classic pics of Joel all suited up saying the legal vows whilst Bridge is still in her activewear, straight up chillin.
Their deeply personal vows which they had written for each other were actually shared on top of Cradle mountain later in the day.

This elopement was featured on Hello May's online blog and you can dig up more of the vendor information Here.
